On the 19/10/2009, something big happened.
Okay actually its nothing BIG but they make it BIG.
I got a Needle stick injury [NSI] (Big screams at the background)
....
Once again, be assured, its no big deal~
What happened was...
I was preparing for a patient's nebuliser at the preparation. Under the condition that the drug (Sabultamol) have to be drawn using a needle, I attached the syringe to a clean needle and began doing my work.
The amount left was too little was i have to pick up the bottle...
Then accidentally, I used some strenght.. and guess what?
The freaking needle actually punctured through the bottom of the drug bottle and poked my left small finger.
God...
Ok, blood oozed, began to do the squeezing, but I cannot find tap water in time so I actually used alcohol swab. Stings ok.
Then later I actually continued with my work, gave my patient the drug, then proceed to re-bandage my finger.
It was really no big deal, since no patient contact and everything isn't contaminated whatsoever, but unluckily when asking my friend to bandage for me my lecturer overheard us...
So here goes all the procedure!
I was told to go down to the clinic, then take blood, then take my money, then they even arrange me to go CDC some more the next day!

But the infection control ppl called me and say my wound is actually no risk at all so I didn't go to CDC.
They even say I dun have to take blood, but too late, my 20ml of blood alrdy gone with my $44.60.
KAO LEH!!!! My attachment money 1/4 just went like dat!
Freaking.
But still ok, thank god nth serious ba? Cos if I have to write letter call ppl etc I will go nuts.
But thanks to my injury also, the ward grew serious about this needle thing, and actually placed blunt needle in the drawer for future drawing of medication. It has a blunt head, so even if poke it won't hurt anyone.
So I think that's the best part in life? Hehe.

Our last day at ward, I'm morning shift. Morning passed rather slowly and since its last day I didn't take case.
Was hectic also, because got this meeting thing at 7am, so eevry nurse attended, then everything got pushed back.
Then after it resumed it was rush here and there...
Then we got guests who came in at 1115 to the ward to tour I think?
Also got audit. Everyone like so scare like dat.
And I saw the fakest thing of my life. You actually get to see alot of fake things when special things arise.
Ha.
Ok I won't take about it, it will get me frustrated~~~!!!!
After that at 3pm, off le. Time to knockoff, then we have this picture taking craze. Ha. It's the last day, no choice ma. But I think this is the 1st time I take picture with the ward staff I'm attached to. They so funny. Ha. They like taking pictures alot. Picrures are with my friend so I will post one when I get it on facebook =)
After all the fun and bidding farewell to both patients, patients' family and ward staff, we went off. I didn't take circle line because I went to SGH to find my parents. My dad was refered to urology clinic at SGH =) Then I met Bavani also~ Thanks to her I can find my way around... haha. Too long never been in SGH, its familiar but confusing.
We left SGH at like 5 plus, close to 6? I can't remember. But what a tiring day it was!
I miss my patients, and I miss the Staff. God bless them really.
Next week is the start of my OT posting. Much anticipation. I wonder what's gonna happen.
JiaMin and I are planning to go out with Pearl also~ I hope nothing goes wrong~
And Mabel start school le, I wanna grab her out also~
Also my NYP clique, must find time also!
