Code of the Day...
All smile.
What lies behind the Sun may have been a pending storm.
All words.
What lies behind the Melody may have been a destructive curse.

I have recently spend 3 wks in TTSH, short for Tan Tock Seng Hospital, for attachment, as always. Now in my 3rd year le I am starting to feel scared, Ha.
I'm suppose to go pay respect to my ancestors today but then my mum decided to let me off since I have a very tiring week.. so thank god, I suppose.
So sian la recently. I wanna go out watch movie de today, then thought my mum wanna me go as a family so I told Mabel nvm xD Then now I at home writing blog entries... Super.. stupid. LOL. Ok la but think of the good side at elast I got a chance to rest. I finally get to sleep =D
I am now working at 7A. A pretty nice ward... 1st week was a disaster as per usual.
Everything at TTSH is different from SGH. The staff there at 1st don't warm up to you, but as time pass it gets better and better.
We started to take cases as well, but my last week I took zero cases cos of certain reason, but ok la. To be honest, I am going to have my 3 months prcp at NHC ward which is possibly located at SGH, so I also don't wanna get too used to TTSH format that quickly, because later I have to switch back to SGH again... It will be tough for me also. at least now a bit here and there I can still manage.
Got 2 days I didn't go ward, I went to Toa Payoh Family nursing.
It was fun. It wasn't boring, not at all.
Family nursing means you get to run all over singapore to your patient's house, either to perform dressing or just a normal checkup. They run at their own time and if they finish early they an just straight away go home, there's no need to go back and report to the officer, but hey, that's not the main point here. The main point is getting to run around, having more freedom, and the job character by itself is way nicer. They have to report to office every morning to start work, and that's also their starting point. They make a few calls, telling the patients that they are coming to their house for watever reason, then they set out. The office environment emits a nice vibe, the people are really friendly and very willing to teach you all you wanna know.
I am a run-about person, some people have commented that I have such energy that they wonder where it comes from, so the running around thing appeals to me, alot. But this job needs a 1-2 yrs job experience so I will be starting in the hospital 1st before venturing to that path, if I still want to when I graduate that is.
Back to the ward base after 2 days of fun. Aww, it was horrible at 1st when you enjoyed 2 days of uber sweetness then thrown back into ward-base jobs, ha. The ward I'm in is multi-discipline, naming you get to see alot of different cases, regardless. It was a good learning experience, perhaps much better than SGH because their wards are more focused in one aspect, so you may lose out in some fields because you never went to that ward before. Our CI, Rachael, was really nice, but sadly during my 3rd week she's not around (because they decided to change our CI) and changed to a NYP lecturer, whose's not around most of the time either.
But thank god!!! CI Rachael is coming back at our last week, so it will still be nice!
Life was tough, happy, sad... well you name it we got it. There's nice people, there's bad people, but thank goodness nice is 98%, so I can still cope with it. The SN teaches me alot of stuff, so did the ENs. The sister also more friendly. Ha.
TTSH is a very high-tech working environment. They have advanced alot into computers instead of hard copies, so when I 1st went there I was unable to adapt well. I mean, I'm used to dot down on charts, use to serve medication with a file, not with a lab top. It's difficult in some way that everything you do have to go through a login, but once you get use to it maybe it will be better...
I miss SGH. I like TTSH, so my job area have expanded. I'm gonna try my luck there when I graduate. They have this provisional employment thing, but everyone's asking me not to sign it. They asked me to think deep, so I will think careful these 2 days and give my reply on monday.
Ok, hope this update is enough =) shall update more when I can~~~
